Sirik, Iran
Qalia Restaurant

The restaurant is located on the top floor of a four-story commercial building in Sirik and is inspired by the tradition of Iranian carpets, a cultural element highly valued by the local community, to the extent that the scale of interior spaces is often perceived in relation to carpet dimensions.

In homes throughout the city, a separate guest area exists, locally referred to as a “Maylesi.” The restaurant’s VIP section is designed with this concept in mind, providing a private space that mirrors the intimacy of a Maylesi while maintaining visual and spatial connections to the main dining areas.

Carpet patterns are integrated across ceilings, walls, and even the reception desk, creating a cohesive narrative that links all design elements from floor to ceiling with the city’s cultural identity.

The project emphasizes the dialogue between tradition and contemporary design, creating a space that is both rooted in local heritage and delivers a modern, visually engaging experience for its visitors
